The City of Atlanta Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Services (SWS), will pick up any unwanted EMPTY city-issued garbage or recycling cart. Once submitted, the cart will be picked up within ten (10) business days.
To submit a request for an empty garbage or recycling cart pick-up:
Call ATL311 at 404-546-0311
To ensure service, place the empty cart upside down at the right-of-way (curbside), as the City of Atlanta does not access private property.
When submitting a request below, in the Street 2 field, enter the unit number, if applicable.
